Decolonizing Imaginaries is the title of Alvaro's visual research in Visual Arts, as part of masters degree, in course since 2021.
Sommos Cannibals (2022-23, We're cannibals) is an exploratory project on eurocentrique representations of anthropophagic rituals in the New World, during XV and XVI colonial centuries. In this projet stereotyped image of a person eating someone's else body is used as a motif to question the predatory mentality of the modern civilisation. Here, the colonial archival image is reactivated to give new meaning to the eating-human-flesh methaphore: cannibals are counterattacking civilizatory actions on earth (extractivism) and over people's body (heteronormativity). According to Tomas  Hobbes, the natural condition of mankind, is a state of war in which life is “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short” because individuals are in a “war of all against all”.
